Projects
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche identified three important projects for YPPC to accomplish,
which are part of YPPC's
vision. See also YPPC's new "Open the Door" brochure (PDF 780k).
Future Yongey Peace Institute

In order to provide a place to host large public
teachings, classes, cultural events, and national
dialogues on the latest research on meditation
and science, Mingyur Rinpoche established the
Yongey Peace Institute, which will become his
first Tibetan-style meditation institute in
America. Already $275,000 has been raised to
purchase the land in south Phoenix, with the
next phase involved in developing architectural
plans and raising $1.5 million for construction.
Yongey Peace Health Center

To provide care for both body and mind, and
bring together Eastern and Western sciences,
YPPC recently launched the Yongey Peace Health
Center. This nondenominational service of YPPC
offers alternative health care from the Chinese,
Tibetan, and Western traditions, with the
intention of serving all communities in Arizona.
In its initial phase, 100% of the income generated
by these services will go to YPCC and its future
projects.
Yongey Education & Medical Project

Mingyur Rinpoche set up this international fund
at Tergar Institute in Bodhgaya. The project's
long-term goal is to provide funds for the
meditation instruction, education, and health
care of children in Tibet, India, and Nepal. He
estimates providing three schools and three
clinics total. The first phase will focus on a
Tibetan school needed in the rural area
surrounding Tergar Monastery in eastern Tibet,
where 100 children don't have anywhere to
receive a modern education, while preserving
their language and culture. This first project is
estimated to cost $200,000.
